Professor P. S. Krishnaprasad (ECE/ISR) has been awarded the 2012 Baetjer Colloquium Lectureship of Princeton University’s Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department. He was recognized for his contributions to the fields of geometric control, filtering theory, robotics and bio-inspired design. Krishnaprasad delivered his lecture on “Structure and Dynamics in Collectives” at Princeton on April 20.

About the Lectureship
The Baetjer Colloquium is so named in honor of Edwin G. Baetjer, II one of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department’s first aeronautical graduates (Class of 1943). With the outbreak of World War II, Edwin Baetjer served his country as a flight engineer and was killed in action during a mission on July 29, 1944. His uncle, Edwin G. Beatjer, presented a gift to Princeton University in 1945 in memory of his nephew and namesake, specifying that the gift be used to support a seminar series in our department. The Baetjer Colloquium continues as the department’s most prestigious seminar series.
