Purpose: The purpose of MRC travel awards is to:
- Encourage graduate and undergraduate students at the University of Maryland to present their robotics-related research at conferences and workshops.
- Encourage University of Maryland student robotics teams to participate in awards-based competitions.
- Sponsor local robotics clubs, grades K-12, by providing small grants for participation in competitions.
MRC travel funds can be used to pay for travel to conferences, workshops, and team competitions, conference registration, and to purchase equipment/parts to build a robot. The award of travel grants is contingent upon availability of funds. Sponsorship grants to local robotics clubs are made in the amount of $500 per team per competition.
